Environmental Alarmism
July 24, 2008 – 9:23 pm by BHEnough books on environmental doom have been printed to kill off a forest of giant redwoods.
That’s Harvard economist Edward Glaeser reviewing Paul and Anne Ehrlich’s new book, The Dominant Animal, in the New York Sun (NYS). For the most part he likes the book, just not their policy recommendations. For background, Paul Ehrlich wrote a famous doom and gloom book called The Population Bomb. Later he entered a famous wager (at least among economists) with Julian Simon. On a related note here is Tyler Cowen on Julian Simon and our current boom in commodity prices.
